Neolithic Era
The Neolithic Era, also know as the Stone Age, was the time when humans transited from a nomadic and hunter\gather lifestyle to a more "permanent" lifestyle. Large communities were built during this time period (a.k.a cities). During this time, there was no bronze, or metal. Plus, writing\record keeping was not around. In this era, many thing became more advanced.
Food:
Farming is how the people received their food. There was arable land, which allowed for farming. By farming, populations were able to rise. Which lead to more complex institutions; such as, job specialization, government, social classes, and more efficient technology. Remember: More food= more people.
Location:
There are many neolithic civilizations, most popular including: Jericho, Catal Hoyuk, and Jamo. Most of these civilizations were located in the Fertile Crescent (the Middle East).
Fun Facts:
- Trade was made very popular with other countries so resources that they needed could get obtanied.
- Tools became more advanced and so did jobs. There became a division of jobs because there were people to do the jobs. More people= more jobs.
- New inventions came about during this era. Including the plow\weaving\basketry.
- Cave art was a form of expression during this era.
